We just had a 4.4 earthquake about 20 miles north of Seattle. At lease one aftershock. Happened at about 2:51 AM Pacific Daylight Time.
I was laying awake with insomnia when it happened. Still am.
10 miles east of Seattle - didn’t feel a thing. Not surprising as it was a 4 something.
Well, I would be living about 60 miles south of there and felt zilch.

I couldn’t sleep either. Was up playing poker on my computer and at 0250when we had mild shaking for 15 seconds at Finn Hill (Kirkland).
felt it near Thrasher’s Corner..
The garbage truck is s four.
One article said they felt it in Canada!
I’m on the line of Kirkland and Redmond. But sitting on a hill of hard till, so that may be why I didn’t notice anything.
I didn’t feel the 3.3 that was closer to Monroe. I have been through several bigger ones in California years ago.

Just on the west edge of the city of Monroe. I believe that is part of the South Whidbey Island Fault zone.
A big offshore quake will flood Seattle
5 miles east of Seattle.
Did not feel anything - but my hard plastic bathtub made a “pop” sound that made me turn around and say “What the heck just happened?”
On a clear night, I can see Mount Rainier from the front door of my apartment building.
I’ll let you know if there is huge red glow around it.
Yup..if that goes....all the coffee grown in Seattle wont help you. Wait...they grow coffee in Seattle?
There is a clear geologic and tree stump record of Puget Sound tsunamis going back several thousand years.
Also, if Mount Rainier ever erupts, trillions of tons of ice and snow would instantly turn to water and flow down hill into Tacoma.

Local news channels are saying the quake was a 4.6 and the epicenter was about 2-3 miles southeast of Lake Stevens.
The closest population center is Everett (which borders Puget Sound) about 8-10 miles west of the epicenter.
Well, here’s one more who had insomnia. I was awake, felt zippo. Then again, I’m just south of Tacoma.
I have a friend in Monroe. Said he definitely felt it.

Things would have to be just right for a tsunami to navigate 100+ miles through the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands, and lower Puget Sound, and then not much of Seattle is low elevation.
For some reason I couldnt sleep at all tonight either-zero, but didnt feel the quake here in the Tri-Cities. I did feel the 2001(?) Nisqually quake.
I didn’t feel it at all. Then again, I sleep like a log.
