Today, I noted a thread in the forum titled: These Navy EOD Techs Fought Off 20 ISIS Fighters in a Cave During Secret Night Raid

 

The article details the astounding bravery, and resulting  military honor, given to two California sailors, "for extraordinary heroism during a nighttime raid on a remote underground Islamic State group hideout, where the pair fought off 20 terrorists and shielded their comrades from grenades and enemy fire." 

Now that article says the raid occurred September 18, so maybe it's a separate act of unimaginable courage from the one the drops hint at; we have MANY amazing military people dropping unannounced in Iraq's Anbar province whenever the need arises.

Or maybe the warriors in today's linked article are being honored for their conduct during operation Magic Sword. Both explanations, I think, are plausible (some disinformation is necessary re DATE).

I can't imagine the psychological impact on our enemies such daring raids have on them. It must be hard for them to sleep, wondering if Uncle Sam just might stop by for a visit, and if he's bringing some warriors with him.
