That would be sweetbreads, but I don’t recommend them.

So, what have they been passing off as beef?...............

I remember McDonalds getting into huge trouble for using some sort of pork product in its food and not telling people.

Pretty sure they’re pituitary glands, nothing to do with veg, and delicious.

this is awful - what about people who don’t eat meat out due to kashrut who ended up eating non-kosher meat thinking it was vegetables. ugh.

What if it had been pork, passed off as beef?
In the early 80s, Pizza Hut had pork and beef pellet toppings that looked almost identical. Sometimes that mistake was made.
Lesson: If you have a critical medical sensitivity or religious observance, you cannot take the chance eating at a place that also serves the wrong foods. Mistakes (and indifference) happen.

Sprouts puts out a pretty good one that is comparable to or better than White Castle burgers used to be. While I really liked the old Sliders, that's not a very high bar to reach.

They updated the recipe for the Impossible Burger to "version 2.0". It tastes much better - not the _same_ as real beef, but it at least _reminds_ of beef.
I prefer to think of it not as a hamburger substitute, but rather as the world's most amazing salad...

This is what happens when you try to make your grass, sticks and bushes more eatable by disguising them as part of the carcass of a dead animal.

BK used to have an actual Veggie Burger that I would order when I was abstaining from meat. It wasn’t bad. One time I was in the drive-thru and saw a Veggie Whopper on the menu and ordered that. The BK guy asked me, “Are you sure?” I said I was sure. I got home and it was lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and sauce on a bun. Disgusting.

that some day someone would invent vegetables that are made of meat.Cows, chicken, sheep eat vegetables. Meat is condensed vegetables.
Fish will eat other fish, so we're not always sure about fish.
