Really? It must take ten, twenty, fifty times longer to park backwards then they can save by parking forwards! Are they thinking they might just rob a bank while they’re parked in front of my (bank-free) building?
It takes hardly any more time at all.
Practice is your friend.
Why does my wife drive around the parking lot ten times looking for a closer space to the store’s front door so she doesn’t have to walk another 50 feet to the store?.................
Let's do the math on that, okay? Let's say it takes 5 seconds to pull into a spot. Fifty times that would be over 4 minutes. Even 10 times that would be almost a full minute. It takes me perhaps an extra 10-15 seconds to pull past a spot, swinging across the lane as I do so, then backing in to a spot that I've already verified as clear, so I'll call B.S. on your speculation.
If I've I told you once, I've told you a million times; QUIT EXAGGERATING!
No it doesn’t.
The people who you are complaining about would still be slow and annoying if they were parking forward.
Its a testosterone thing. It goes along with unshaven, tattood, pierced, GQ, machismo.
I can back in faster than I can pull in forward. At my apartment, the spaces are tight and there are wood posts holding up the covered parking.
Backing in, I can use my mirrors effectively to back in accurately. When I pull in forward, I lost sight of other cars and the roof’s wood posts.
It takes an act of faith to forward into my apartment parking space.
My back-up camera is so large, clear and accurate, I can place my car on a dime when backing.
