At a time when the national unemployment rate is at its lowest in nearly half a century, three states have set all-time records.
Vermonts lowest-in-the-nation 2.2% jobless rate represents a new historic mark for the Green Mountain state, according to a report Friday from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Along with the new low for Vermont, Pennsylvania at 3.8% and Wisconsins 2.8% set new standards for state unemployment as indicated by records that go back to 1976. Pennsylvania and Wisconsins fortunes are significant in that they will be key swing states in the 2020 election, during which the economys performance under President Donald Trump will be a critical issue.
The trends come the same month that the U.S. rate fell to 3.6%, its lowest reading since December 1969.

I’ll bet this is a problem Joe Biden would fix in a matter of weeks.
IIRC, in the GWB era, 5% UE was considered ‘full’ employment. That had inched up from 3% in the 60s and 70s.
Yeah, that and that booming stock market.
Dhims are doing all they can to sabotage the economy. Expect the fed to raise interest rates 5 points in spring 2020. But watch for Soros to suddenly make a krapton of shorts
In Pennsylvania, the Dems are getting credit. Since Trump, PA has gone straight communist.
Even if these states had 0% unemployment, they will still vote for Gropey Joe.
They are like Pavlov’s dogs ... they can’t help themselves.
“Even if these states had 0% unemployment, they will still vote for Gropey Joe.”
Huh? Two of those states went for Trump in 2016. And they’re better off now than in 2016.
Rather than going for Trump it’s more accurate to say they didn’t vote for Clinton.
In PA Trump won with 20K fewer votes than Obama got for re-election and that was 300K fewer votes than Obama won with the first time.
You can’t count on PA if the Dems run a candidate acceptable to older union voters.
