P.S. my dad had an eighth grade education and was a very smart man. But not politically, sadly.
I think I boast of an 8th grade education in rebellion to society and the system because SO MUCH EMPHASIS is placed on the provenance and importance of a coveted pedigree, and it’s perceived/assigned worth in the grand scheme of things. The dumbing down of students, therefore the uselessness in what they learn, is about as complete as it can get. Add in social justice warrioring, and 15 other emotionally driven triggers and wonder of wonders, we now have a well rounded student ready for graduation and off to the work arena. Rant / off. ;0)
OK I didn’t correctly send this reply as it is still here, and on second read, I realize that I have impugned the education system in generalities, and that there are many fine learning institutions in our nation, it’s just that most of them are largely private, and, I am largely speaking to my perceptions of publicly funded schools. Whew! Close call!
