I remember that! Didn’t he drive some stupid covered wagon to one of the last Apollo launches? I remember thinking it was getting more coverage then the launch and the mission.

That was the "Poor Peoples' March". It was effective street theater. In three years, Apollo was dead ... but Ralph's welfare state has metastasized.

I'm glad we're thinking big again, but we have to kill the welfare state before it kills us.
