Wait...barley in Finland...isn't that up near the arctic circle....?
Maybe the earth was warmer then...what with all the oil burning SUV's tooling around.

Well, I’ll be! Always been a big fan of both Tull and Joe Walsh but I’ve never heard them play that song.
Thanks!

Teaching your neighbors how to farm sounds like a good way to prevent invasions to steal your own food. That’s in addition to the trade opportunities and alliances forged by such a practice. I imagine the indians who taught pilgrims how to cultivate corn were of a similar mindset.

I never knew Tull did a rendition. Good stuff.
I think it should be a theme song for the carnivore movement and People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants.
Thanks for the links.

Wow! The song goes back to the 16th Century. At least.
It fits the thread better than I thought.
I think I like Tull’s rendition better than Traffic’s.

Might I recommend “The history of the world in 6 glasses”, a book that explains the origins of beer, wine, liquor, coffee, tea and Coca-Cola and how they fit into world history? I think you might enjoy it.
