Sardines and anchovies. Does that count? If so, I like kippered (got to look that up... It means salted?) fish.

Yep! They also sell little tins of kippered herring “snacks” that are pretty good.

Kippered herring are smoked and very good. I grew up on them.

Ah so... In those days, they didn't have refrigeration. Preservation was often accomplished by salting. I guess I should've said I never add salt to any fish I eat because it always seems to make it too salty for me.
