ANTARCTICA - WHAT’S GOING ON?
PART THREE SHORT

More about the PEW TRUSTS.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pew_Charitable_Trusts

“The Pew Charitable Trusts is an independent non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO), founded in 1948.
With over US $6 billion in assets, its stated mission is to serve the public interest by “improving public policy, informing the public, and stimulating civic life.”

The Trusts, a single entity, is the successor to, and sole beneficiary of, seven charitable funds established between 1948 and 1979 by J. Howard Pew, Mary Ethel Pew, Joseph N. Pew, Jr., and Mabel Pew Myrin — the adult sons and daughters of Sun Oil Company founder Joseph N. Pew and his wife, Mary Anderson Pew. Honoring their parents’ religious conviction that good works should be done quietly, the original Pew Memorial Foundation was a grantmaking organization that made donations anonymously. The foundation became the Pew Memorial Trust in 1956, based in Philadelphia, the donors’ hometown.…”

“Although today The Pew Charitable Trusts is non-partisan and non-ideological, Joseph Pew and his heirs were politically conservative. THE MODERN DAY ORGANIZATION WORKS TO ENCOURAGE RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT AND SUPPORT SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON A WIDE RANGE OF ISSUES, INCLUDING GLOBAL OCEAN GOVERNANCE, CORRECTION REFORM, AND ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE.”

Early priorities of the Pew Memorial Trust included cancer research, the ***American Red Cross,*** “
[YIKES!!!!]

“and a pioneering project to assist historically black colleges. Later beneficiaries included conservative organizations such as the JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY, THE AMERICAN LIBERTY LEAGUE, AND THE AMERICAN ENTERPRISE INSTITUTE, as well as environmental organizations such as the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Oceana, and MAINSTREAM THINK TANKS LIKE THE CENTER-LEFT BROOKINGS INSTITUTION. The Trusts continues to fund charities in Philadelphia.”

[[[[I had not heard of the American Liberty League, so here is the first paragraph from Mr Wik on THAT subjecti:

“The American Liberty League was an American political organization formed in 1934, primarily of wealthy business elites and prominent political figures, who were conservatives opposed to the New Deal of President The American Liberty League was an American political organization formed in 1934, primarily of wealthy business elites and prominent political figures, who were conservatives opposed to the New Deal of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its principles emphasized private property and individual liberties. Its leader Jouett Shouse called on members to:

‘defend and uphold the constitution of the United States ... to teach the necessity of respect for the rights of persons and property as fundamental to every successful form of government ... teach the duty of government to encourage and protect individual and group initiative and enterprise, to foster the right to work, earn, save, and acquire property, and to preserve the ownership and lawful use of property when acquired. Its principles emphasized private property and individual liberties.’

It was highly active in spreading its message for two years. Following the landslide re-election of Roosevelt in 1936, it sharply reduced its activities. It disbanded entirely in 1940.” ]]]]]
[A little more discussion of the above beneficiaries is in the LONG version.]

Texokie speculations about the TRUSTS:

I think a case can be made that there have been some patriots involved in the Pew organization founders, and perhaps some, especially more recent generations, have been duped by believing the PR rhetoric of such things they have supported as the RED CROSS. They have also supported the JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY…but we have learned that at that $6 billions mark, the likelihood, as we are so unfortunately learning, most of the big money guys are eventually turned to the Derp Side.

We also see Roosevelt’s offspring of a few generations removed, being involved with the Pew Trusts efforts at ocean management. Time changes everything, because the founders of the Trusts were apparently not very much in favor of President Roosevelt’s policies.

And here is another little factoid about Pew Trusts.

The Pew Trusts is the mother organization for the very well known Pew public opinion polls, at Pew Research Center. As I understand it, it is one of the more reputable polls out there…. But they do indicate that they are for “IMPROVING PUBLIC POLICY.” I have not studied the various polls, but I am now wondering if the Pew polls and surveys are as honest as they seem, or do they indulge in their own fancies when it suits them to “IMPROVE PUBLIC POLICY, INFORM THE PUBLIC, AND STIMULATE CIVIC LIFE.”

Well, you and I both know that can mean a lot of things. And we also need to bear in mind Pew Trusts do have their eyes on a lot of things….including Antarctica.
