Actually the research has been done, a good portion of it posted on FR, mostly done by FReepers.
It is known who his parents are. Stanley Ann Dunham is not his mother and the Kenyan Obama is not his father. His “autobiography” is a fiction written by Bill Ayers.

I have accepted for a long time that there is a very strong case against Obama Sr as being the Sperm Donor. I have also seen the discussions on Dunham not being the mother. We knew during the 2008 campaign that Ayers made up the story from mostly whole cloth.
I sought to write my report in such a way as to not lock myself into trying to advocate for or against any case for parentage. I was focused on exploring only one of the several sperm donors who have been proposed. I acknowledge that the theories and cases of O’s parentage abound, and many are quite convincing. However, I have not seen that the question truly has been completely resolved.
Perhaps I should say it this way. I have not personally been convinced, although I am long past convinced that the official story of O’s life smells greatly of JACKASS POOPIE!
