The Maori are the almost indegenous tribe in New Zeeland. I was curious of the brand of their religion, so found this: "Islam is estimated as the fastest growing religion among Māori, yet Māori Muslims constitute a very small proportion of Māori. " so, I wondered if the mosque was for Maoris mostly. Even tho the NZ govt. hasn't released the victim list, relatives of some of the victims have been interviewd in the press. I only read about 5. None of them were native NZ.

And traditionally Maori were very fierce and warlike; I don’t know what their ancestors are like now. I knew a couple of NZers who were part Maori, both female. They were fairly aggressive actually....
