Sad that you insult me by calling my comments “ virtue signaling” since when did the truth about a matter such as “raised taxes” vs “ loss of deductions” become virtue signaling? Semantics matter.

One pays taxes on their adjusted gross income. If your taxes are increased by "x" because you are not longer allowed to deduct "y", it really doesn't matter whether "y" is excessive or not, you are paying more in taxes.
Many of us don't live in high SALT states, I, for example, live in Missouri, not exactly a high-SALT state.
I, too, remember when one could deduct interest on car loans and credit cards. So what? The issue is, did the 2018 tax cuts "hurt" some people. For some of us, the answer is "yes, yes it did." Does that mean we will change our vote next time? For me, the answer is "no".
