I will suggest St. Louis or Chicago. While I prefer St. Louis, Chicago might be a better choice. That’s due to it being a transportation hub - lots of direct flights.

It has been a while, but I used to do it quite often. As a representative from the St. Louis Fed District, I traveled to our Trade Association Board of Directors Meetings.

They were often in Chicago, due to ease of air transport, as well as no need for a cab to get to the hotel. It was much better than NY, DC, Minnesota, Dallas, or Orlando.

At that time, I packed a garment bag, a suitcase, and a big purse-none of which was checked-all carryon.

Now, I can do quite well with one carryon with wheels and a purse. So even though I am over 70, I think I could manage it. Might even take Amtrak for something different. LOL
