Had right in front of me rabbit blindspot vision over this one for a good while until now. Nod to lifttheveil for this illumination.

The Owl is a Raptor.

Latin definition for:

raptor, raptoris

noun

declension: 3rd declension

gender: masculine

Definitions:

1.plunderer

2.robber

Raptor from its Latin meaning, "robber, plunderer, or abductor," from rapere, "to seize."

A raptor is a bird of prey, a large, strong bird that feeds on smaller animals. Raptors are equipped with sharp talons and beaks for hunting.

Raptors are hunters, and they're also big, striking birds — the bald eagle is one example of a raptor. The difference between raptors and other birds that also eat animals (like gulls, for example) is that raptors use not only their beaks, but also their curved talons to catch their prey. Before it came to be used for these birds, raptor meant "abductor,"

from its Latin meaning, "robber, plunderer, or abductor," from rapere, "to seize."

I get more pissed every single day over these criminals flaunting their robbing and plundering right in front of our rabbit eyes.
