Missouri is moderately friendly for retirees.
No tax on Social Security or Public Retiree Pensions for those making less than 100000 per year/joint filing. 85,000 single.

Cost of living is not too bad, and tends to be socially conservative—exceptions for larger cities if run by DEMs. Dolphin/human hijinks is taboo.

St. Louis has world renowned health care centers. Rural Communities will often transport/transfer to St. Louis, if they are not equipped to handle.

Southwest Mo. tends to rely on Cox Medical or St. Johns. and they have also been known to transport to St. Louis when the need arises.

I’m planning on going to NH I think. Awesome gun laws, GOP runs the legislature. Property taxes are high but I will reduce those by zoning as a farm. Cost of living is low.

RE Missouri (To extend on Greeneyes comments)

You also have a center of good hospitals and healthcare in the KC Area (Including University of Kansas Med)

I have been told that the Columbia Mo. VA Hospital is one of the better ones in the nation. There is one in KC and another in Leavenworth KS. St Louis has an excellect Botanical Garden.

They have low gas prices. If you like Ice Storms and Tornados they also have those!
