There's No Place Like Home

*Massive, dusty moving van pulls into the Q thread parking lot*
*MoD removes keys from ignition to prevent blu from taking it for a joyride*
*opens door and drops down to ground level*

ThankQ for all think kind expressions of concern, well wishes, clever/hilarious humor, (and comedy gold - looking at you, Humblegunner).

*steps up into the rim of front wheel and climbs onto the hood of the van, field glasses swaying from a neck band*

I discovered that if you save old computers as backups in case the main computer goes down, sometimes you just end up with several computers to fix.

*climbs windshield and slides back a few times before seizing the trim near the roof and climbing up*
*cautiously stands upright*

I missed you all - it's the longest I've gone without being on the Q thread. Far too long! It was odd not being surrounded by your warmth, intelligence and patriotism.

*turns to scan the horizon, one hand shielding eyes from sunlight, while continuing to talk*

I look forward to reading what you all wrote - as soon as I have 4 days to catch up. For now, I'll have to start at the latest posts. I received a pm saying that Anons shared a link to a June Q thread - and very kind words from the Anon.

*stops and stares at a point on the horizon*
*raises field glasses to focus on the distance and becomes still with concentration*

Hey!

*turns quickly to call down to FReeQs*

HEY! YOU CAN SEE 8CHAN FROM HERE!

*raises field glasses with one hand, and stares intently*
*slowly raises other hand.....waves*

I agree with President Trump; Q people are good people.

*sigh*
*lowers field glasses*

So, FreeQs, you may have discussed this already - I think the Anon passed on some important info that we can use to improve our Q threads.

*slides down windshield to hood*

The Anon linked to the descriptive text style of introduction we used on our Q threads last summer.

*sits down on hood of van, evaluates descent options*

I worried about that format because I was not the writer to make the text engaging and inspiring, and was unsuccessful in volunteering others to write it. What I wrote didn't reflect the importance, inspiration, urgency etc. that Q provides, but instead had a "book report" feel, or so I thought.

*cautiously slides down to stand on bumper*

But the table had it's own problems. It's not all that inspiring or engaging either - even if the videos an links in it are fabulous. The table format doesn't orient and welcome those investigating. It doesn't host images like the earlier format did; I believe images really do help.

Note that FRee Republic features the first 4 lines or so of any new thread in the forum results; the table can't be properly displayed in the forum so there's another missed opportunity.

With the Anon indicating Q is pointing to a descriptive text style of introduction, we have key input to help us up our game.

FReeQs, there are so many among you who write so well. And we're all reading and watching great inspiring Q content all the time. Between pulling our own content together, and quoting the best (with attribution) of the Citizen Journalists (articles, tweets, videos) we could build a strong, concise thread intro with one or more image(s) as Q has indicated is preferred.

With a rebuilt, descriptive introduction at the top of our threads, we can make the current Table a link - perhaps in post #1. Mairdie always intended the table to become a link after we'd all seen it, but I was reluctant to write something again so I left it in place. Also, people tend to skip links - but perhaps we can make the link to the table more enticing.

We could start pooling input and suggestions. You may send ideas to me in the meantime via pm or put it on the thread.

I'll rely upon FReeQs to keep it from becoming "Book Report v2.0".

We'll probably receive more good content then we can use. The sum of our ideas, impressions insights, concerns and knowledge etc. will inform the final product, not just specific text used.

*drops to ground level*

Ahhhh....so good to be home on the thread again!
