For those curious. the phrase “dead cat bounce” refers to a small revival after falling deep and fast.

Usually, when a scandal or bad news of sorts hits a stock in the stock market, there is a precipitous, deep, rapid, dive in the price of a stock, it is usually followed by a small uptick before finally dying or flatlining. The small uptick is known as a ‘dead cat bounce’.
