At the very least he should be billed for the entire cost of the investigation, and be required to make a public apology. Ideally, he should spend at least six months or a year in prison in addition to paying for the investigation. We keep getting these hoaxes because the media instantly spread them, and the person perpetrating the hoax is either never punished or given a slap on the wrist.
As 98% of us have said from the VERY beginning, made up story. As I said then, Liberal Progressive political race scams are easy to spot because they make up the story based upon misguided pre-conceived notions of how Trump supporters, people on the right etc. think, talk and behave.
Unfortunately for them they really have no clue the accurate reality so their bogus claims stick out like a sore thumb to us who really do know the score.
The MSM play right along because they are also lefty’s and operate under the same fallacious mindset.
We have a country filled with “victims” for which there are no actual perpetrators. This goes on all the time now. It’s mass delusion (along with outright fraud) spawned by a powerful incentive to become a victim due to today’s victimhood culture. “Victims” are today’s heroes, and as apparently demonstrated by this incident, there is no quicker way to gain sympathy and deflect negative attention from yourself than to concoct a quick victimhood tale. Jusse’s only problem is that he was really stupid and assembled a paper-thin story that a blind man could see right through.

Minorities are allowed to file false hate crime charges.
In this case, witnesses came forward and were willing to talk.
I think that's something of a rarity in the shooting cases.

Well, I certainly hope he doesn't do anything like that.
Just because it isn't true doesn't mean it shouldn't be true.
So it apparently was a staged incident.
There were things in the earliest reports that caused many to doubt the story. The narrative was a bit much and flimsy.
The bleaching part was easily proved or disproved by looking at the clothing. Bleach discoloration would have been evident. When it was a reporter who ‘found’ the bottle of ‘clear liquid’ in a hot-sauce bottle, that raised questions. Other posters have said that bleach freezes at about 18 degrees. The morning of this incident was below zero.
The ‘rope’ quickly became a clothes line cord.
