It’s known that artificial sweeteners induce a large insulin response even though there isn’t any ‘sugar’. It’s called a cephalic response (your taste buds sense sweet and your body reacts to that).

Excess insulin is a bad guy.

Yes. The results of the study in the headlines do not show causation, however.

Makes me wonder if bitter or sour might suppress insulin to some degree in an anti-cephalic response.
