...blowing up underground “trafficking” tunnels???

Demolition types of my acquaintance take considerable pride in their ability to "blow the **** out of things without making the tea dishes rattle next door".

They would consider a "loud boom" as amateurish and unprofessional.

...my vote would be for a sonic boom from (probably) military aircraft, but they don't favor waking their customers with loud noises either.

“They would consider a “loud boom” as amateurish and unprofessional.”

Maybe people who need to destroy a bunch of tunnels like yesterday can’t afford the luxury of using only professionals.

Executive Order in effect.

Probably much evidence needs to be destroyed....

And dang quick too.

Very high flying supersonic aircraft could create this effect, yes? You would not hear the plane especially at night but you do hear the boom. As you said it’s highly frowned upon, because one can actually BREAK windows, to the extent that I’m not sure I’ve ever heard one, but it was kind of a “thing” as I’m sure you remember, in the early days of supersonic jets.
