The difference is perspective.
Imagine a chair is set in the middle of a large room. There are two Marines standing behind the chair.
Now imagine the POTUS is sitting in the chair..visually, what would you say the marines are doing? Protecting or guarding?
Imagine the same chair, the same Marines, but an MS13 member is sitting in the chair..visually, what would you say the Marines are doing? Protecting or guarding?
Anyway, that is the image I got when I read the post. P.S. I know Marines wouldn’t be used on MS13, I used them for the visual.
