Once we get the Space Force up a going they are going to want their own Academy. I am certain that the students will be Midshipmen. NOBODY will want to be a Space Cadet.

Uhhhhhhh...NK Nuclear Mountain. “Tired Mountain Syndrome”? Like it’s a real thing.
Separate the need for bureaucratic control at Pentagon level. Create “Space Force”. Initial command? RofG.

Re Nobody will want to be a Space Cadet:
Haha! Except me. I want to be one and some in my family already think I am one.
What did they call the young ones in Starfleet Academy? Cadets. Once they were on board, they were crewmen.

In Starship Troopers, they were called UCFF Fleet Academy cadets, and I believe they were called crewmen on the ships.
HA! Just saw this. I’m guessing the Space Academy will end up in Houston or another major NASA location. Short term they will leverage the existing academies similar to what they did with the Air Force early on. Even now there are service transfers to other services...
Just thought which secretary will the Space Force report to? It could be they do like the Navy Secretary with multiple forces (Navy and Marines) and have the Air Force Secretary with both Air and Space. If that is the case then the Space Force would likely go through Colorado Springs.
