It’s about “time” on Afghanistan.

Literally.

The Taliban’s favorite expression: You have the watches, but we have the time.

This withdrawal could have been years ago, next year, 10 years from now or 100 years from now. Why not NOW?

My suspicion has been for years that we are staying there because of the poppies and the heroin. Someone is CASHING IN.

Incidentally, Russia still has lots of heroin addicts from their efforts in Afghanistan. Unlike American soldiers returning from Vietnam, they continued en masse the drug addictions they acquired there.

You make some great points. I had not realized that about the addicts in Russia from their time in Afghanistan. Thanks.

If that's the case, (and one is inclined to believe that such a thing is possible), then someone knows who they are.

Go find them and fix them in some kind of way so they can't cash in any more...

INTERESTING ARTICLE IN MILITARY TIMES-excerpt and link below:

This month, in the January/February print issue of the gun and hunting magazine “Recoil," the former contractor security firm Blackwater USA published a full-page ad, in all black with a simple message: “We are coming.”

Is the war in Afghanistan — and possibly elsewhere ― about to be privatized?
