A 36-year-old man has died after suffering from chronic heart failure and coughing so severely that he spit out a bright red blood clot perfectly-shaped like the airway passages of his right lungs bronchial tree.
The unidentified patient was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, according to a Nov. 29 article in the New England Journal of Medicine.
During the week of his hospitalization, the mans cough progressed to coughing up blood and phlegm. And, during a rather extreme hack, he coughed up an intact cast of the right bronchial tree, the article stated.

What wonders hath open borders brought!
My God, how in the world could THAT come out intact like that? This is so weird.
Very cool. I love casts.
Either way the Lord God was there. I prayed to him along with an ICU Nurse. The team of Lord God and ICU Professionals saved my life.
Hey, Kenny! See my tag line, LOL!
*Hey, how long can we artificially keep this guy alive?
We got a new MIR machine we need to pay on.

Prayer to St. Joseph for a Happy Death
O Glorious St. Joseph, behold, I choose thee today for my special patron in life and at the hour of my death. Preserve and increase in me the spirit of prayer and fervor in the service of God. Remove far from me every kind of sin; obtain for me that my death may not come upon me unawares, but that I may have time to confess my sins sacramentally and to bewail them with a most perfect understanding and a most sincere and perfect contrition, in order that I may breathe forth my soul into the hands of Jesus and Mary. Amen
That must have been extremely painful and frightening. Suffocating until you have a heart attack is a rough way to go, RIP. But the clot sure is cool.
It looks like the aluminum castings of anthills.
Breathing that smoke free California air.
Lost wax cast?
That’s gold, Diana...GOLD!!
This mans outcome was not the same as yours
ICU and CCU can indeed be life saving. And yes the staff are remarkable
Glad you are doing well
Still remember the aftermath of my surgery to correct a deviated septum and old broken nose debris. The blood boogers were impressive, and painful as heck to get out.
Been there.
Step One: Break your nose again.
Step Two: **** *********!

Maybe you're recalling another Smith?
Snuffy Smith?
LOL! I know! :)
Hey! And you owe me a dinner at Mendy’s!
No, I was recalling some recent threads on the subject.
