"There has been some vigorous grandstanding to mollify the sentiments that elected Trump-but the rest of his tenure in DC will be about rendering an American businessman into a Swamp Critter-precisely what William Barrs nomination signifies" Barr's short tenure under Bush suggests to me that Barr didn't care for the Swamp. I think this may be a case of Trump leveraging Barr's Bush bonafides to bring a patriot on board. After the big Bush funeral bash, what Senator could say no to one of Bush's "best buddies"?

Seeing as many Senators were in Congress then, what was the Senate vote to approve Barr?

Barr’s short tenure under GHWB suggests to me it was because Bill Clinton’s inauguration was Barr’s last day on the job.
