"never" come to light is a long time. Doubt that's all that necessary.

Then plan on living at least another 50 years. Your view of secrets in today's world is childish at best. When you get a clearance, you don't get a 'book' of all the secrets at that level. There are many 'classifiers' as the originators, so there isn't even one large book of 'secrets'. One thing that isn't secret is that the classification process does hide 'bad' things, incompetence etc. Not a perfect world and is certainly isn't run by perfect individuals. Nonetheless, the President can declassify if he knows. Elect good people there and the system can function better.

Q and to the extent you believe Pres Trump is using Q has said 40% public. Do you trust the President to act in a manner consistent with his charge? If you do, then this call for the outpouring of 'secrets' despite that in his judgement that they would be de-stabilizing is the same as crying about if we are 'there' yet. Knowing what he knows, I doubt he views it as nothing less than a burden as the things hinted at are sickening. Even folks hereabouts who have/had high clearances are required to keep their mouths shut. You don't get extra money and some of what you know may not to your liking, but with the knowledge comes the requirement.

Sufficiently true, alright. And I do mostly trust Trump to make wise decisions. I also expect him to be somewhat human.

Trump has missed his opportunity.

Anything he comes up with now looks desperate. Unless he has photos of Hillary drinking virgin blood, no one is going to trust him.

I wish he’d been able to get all of this done. But I believe it’s too late.

Here’s the problem with our system of government sanctioned secrecy, in a nutshell:

The premise for secrecy’s purpose—national security—has been twisted and distorted in so many ways that this purpose has now become the opposite.

Well said Xone.

As a general rule, the more someone goes around blabbing about how "in the know" they are about classified matters/ operations, the less likely they have ever known anything worth talking about.

Winston Churchill said, "In war-time, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies." Not all wars are fought in the open. Evil exists in this world and oft time it must be fought out of sight of the public to protect them.

It is always more important to protect the innocent than punish the wicked. That doesn't mean that the wicked go unpunished. It may mean that the punishment takes place out of the public's sight.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because you don't see things being done doesn't mean that things aren't being done. Yes, it can be frustrating.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." If you trust that President Trump is a good man trying to do the greatest good for the nation then you must accept that what is necessary is being done to the best of his ability.

I did my time on the pointy end of the spear during the cold war. I live in a Navy town. I am continually impressed by the quality of the young men and women that have come after me. I will put aside my petty desires and trust the President to do the right thing with the tools at his disposal.
