Nicely done.
Spoken like a true Snowflake who has been insulated from life's experiences. Jean Shepherd talked, and wrote, about the angst and humor of everyday life that everyone experienced. Or at least everyone up until it was decided a generation was too fragile to be subjected to the least bit of stress.
By the way, the dapper gentleman waiting in the line to see Santa is Jean Shepherd
“Leftists hate everything.”
Especially success.
I didn't write it, just wish I did...
That was me, once upon a time, for using a word that wouldn't raise an eyebrow today. A great bit of nostalgia!
This wasn't a movie about Christmas for kids, it was a movie about Christmas for adults who used to be kids.
Yes, the author is yet another in the long line of leftist killjoys with which we are now infested.
So, how long did it take your tongue to heal?
You are a very gifted writer. I, like, you can relate to the characters in the movie and as I grow older I also find my self like the dad in the film. God bless you and have a Merry Christmas.
I hope this year, when she channel surfs for something like Scrooged or some crappy will farrel elf s#!t, her channel selector gets stuck on 24 hours of a A Christmas Story.
Thats funny!
[[The whole point of the movie, aside from the tongue-in-cheek side stories, is the pure joy one felt on that one special Christmas of your youth,]]
I’m not sure liberals, many anyways, are capable of experiencing joy
Ok, so she doesn’t like the movie because kids act like kids and not like little leftist automatons. Got it.
Darren McGavin was great in this movie. Perfect casting.
I’ll explain her problem with the greatest movie ever made:
It’s about a little BOY who wants a BB GUN for Christmas.
Boom. That’s her problem (among other issues she obviously has) in a nutshell.
Ask her about the original “Jonny Quest” episodes sometime then stand back and watch the fun begin.
Well said.
Although the book upon which “A Christmas Story” is based takes place in the Depression, the actual movie feels more post-WWII (late ‘40s or early ‘50’s).
It is one of the very few movies that represents the times of my childhood. When I watch it, I am instantly transported back to grade school and the Christmas’s of my youth. We were “lower middle class” and the cinematography is spot-on of what I lived through.
That is priceless!
Die Hard is a better movie overall, but “Lethal Weapon” is actually a better Christmas movie. The whole arc of Gibson’s character is about loss, grief, redemption and rediscovering the concept family at Christmas.
Gwynne Watkins, shove it.
And true Leftists truly do not understand how anyone can celebrate anything other than political (power) victory ... likely because they believe this life is all there is ... and their existence -- this gift -- is otherwise meaningless and insubstantial.
