Strauss competed on the eighth season of Tyra Banks' "Top Model" at the age of 22, coming in sixth place. She went on to struggle with drug addiction and spent a period of time living on the streets. After an appearance on the "Dr. Phil Show" in 2012, Strauss pledged to turn her life around. In August, she celebrated five years of sobriety.
Strauss announced her cancer diagnosis in October, shortly after she learned she had stage IV inflammatory breast cancer.
"It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable," Strauss wrote in a public Facebook post. "With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the 'few months' doctors said I could make it."

I’m confused, cancer changed her appearance like that? That doesn’t seem right. I feel badly for her dying so young but that pic looks to be the result of drug use / hard living. My apologies if it’s cancer, if it is cancer that scares the hell out of me.

Wow, she managed to kick the drugs, and then cancer kills her anyway, 5 years later.

For those who may be wondering inflammatory breast cancer is a highly aggressive form of the cancer in which tumor is present in lymphatic vessels of the skin of the breast at the time of diagnosis. It classically causes swelling of the skin giving it an orange peal appearance, called peau d’orange in textbooks. It is treated with neo-adjuvant therapy in which chemotherapy is given prior to mastectomy.
Yeah, that has to be drugs.
Or its exactly what post eleven describes.

I seem to remember you have to have a certain amount of posts before you are allowed to read more than the exerpt first.
Or maybe that was a certain number of cups of coffee.
Those who post here tend to be traditionalists. One of our most cherished traditions is not reading the full article.
