My opinion is to respect RANSOMNOTE’s wishes in this regard, even though it’s hard sometimes to pass on by.

Just don’t ask me to sidle up and show respect to people coming around kicking over tables and spitting on people.
This will not happen.

I was responding more to the amorphous idea of showing "respect" to the disrespectful.

Ignoring is a separate topic.

Being told to be nice to the un-nice makes me grumpy.

I agree that ignoration is the best policy, for the most part.

Some people do need to be addressed at times (i.e. Jack Black, etc.).
