I would also recommend “Why bad things happen to good people” by Howard Kushner.

Kushner is a rabbi but I found nothing that wasn’t applicable to Christian belief as well.

After my son passed this was gifted to me and after a few months I finally read through it. It definitely helped to mend wounds.

Kushner’s answers are in direct contradiction to 2000 years of Christian understanding and 3500 years of Jewish understanding.
