The Awan scandal was largely DWS and fellow Ds. Not sure that any Rs were involved in this as that is too much of a risk. I do not doubt Rs were parts of other scandals (eg no name).
This developed way after W.
Frustrated that the Rs do not get coordinated to make this and other scandals more of an issue. However, with DS Ryan and most likely McConnell this gets no traction.
Trump was right the one thing that he admires about the Ds is that they stick together.

Well, that’s mostly true, but IIRC, Imran Awan came in 2004, and they apparently have ties with the CIA, part of Derpers network, so you can’t totally rule out W/GHW ties back to CIA/DS. 44 Dems were known to be impacted. Pubbies unknown.
The problem about the repubs is, they should have been jumping straight up and straight down over this and they were not. Their silence (except for Judge Louie Gohmert) was deafening and troubling.
This developed during W not after.
Wexler brought Awan in as his IT director in 2004. Meeks & Beccera added Awan in 2004 and DWS added him in 2005 and he was off to the races.
By 2008 Awan was already on the IG’s radar.
We’ve tried to keep the Awan stories posted on FR together using the keyword “itgate”
That is an aspect of R's and Patriots which gets in the way of our using the Constitutional Republic as we should. R's may have some who want to act on things such as the Awan debacle while other R's are trying to either CYA or play nice bipartisanship.
In the area of conservative activism this is one of our great hindrances as well. Conservatives are so independant they resist banding together on issues. I've seen people in the state Capitol trying to speak with Legislators on the same goal who will not unite their efforts due to very small details.
Also, Conservatives tend to be "one issue activists." 10 Conservatives each with their own issue, in person speaking to Legislators on a busy day at the Capitol get lost in the shuffle. 10 Conservatives united toward a common goal get noticed. And yet, IRL, the 10 will not unite even when they believe in the goals of the other 9. Their goal is too important and they don't have time to give to anything else.
It's valid that we are the people who work and don't get paid to be activists but it has hit us hard since the left was trained by Saul Alinsky. We must do better and teach the next generation to do better. Even a defeat of the Deep State in our lifetime leaves the next generation to protect the Republic for themselves.
