.
The ‘74 Mustang chasis was that of their German built compacts.

I had the first one sold in CA. It was a “Piece!”

The timing gear would disintegrate at regular intervals.

The “Sled.”

Was hurting for brakes!

Poor handling too.

Yes, but only for a very short time!

Seems they can’t do a good thing for more than about 5 years before blowing it completely.

Look at the specs from the first generation mustang to the 71, 72 and 73.

Different wheel base, different length, different width and different weight.

Vastly different car. I don’t know how anybody could consider a 71 model as a first generation.

Either hate or love the mustang II, but it must be admitted that it was truer to the original mustang pony car then those big Torino type mustangs.

Totally agree. I clearly preferred the first several years of the 2000s-retro Mustangs over the last few years. Same with the VW Beetles. The first series of retros had the classic high bubble top like the original VW Bugs. Then, beginning several years ago, they began to "flatten" them out to the point where they almost look like any other crappy-looking modern car on the road today.

IMO, 63-73 had the same basic, original Mustang look, although of course the 69-73s were longer.
