I hear ya and agree. Sure, there are some machine politicians like the Pelosis, Cuomos, Panettas et al., and I’m sure that there are also some Italian-American hippies and gays and ne-er-do-wells who support the Dems, but the rank-and-file Italian-American “regular folks” I know—folks with families and jobs and businesses— are nearly 100% conservative Republicans. Amazing that I got attacked by Italians for saying my friends are all Rs but (I assume by your FR name) an Irish person comes to my aid.
We were a mixed bag growing up. Maybe 25 percent of my friend were Irish. The rest Italian.
We stuck together because it was the time of race riots and white was white!! Jewish, Irish, Italian, Polish...when 50 or 60 black dudes want to rock n roll, you put any ethnic issues your parents had aside!!!
