After years of having the most glorious blooming night blooming cereus, I gave in to temptation and repotted it. No blooms since. I try to dry it out but it’s just too rich of an environment now. Back when you could see the roots crawling out of the pot, the plant knew that survival meant blooming and seeds. The smell was amazing and it was as advertised. Bloomed in the night for a very few hours and then the scent was completely gone. Breaks my heart. I’m working on willful neglect.

I have a jasmine vine out there, too. Almost killed it once. Even with lots of blooms, the fragrance was subtle. But I liked it.
