I think the Dems will do surprisingly poorly in the mid-terms. And I think that kills the Kavanaugh topic. They will think they misjudged the public feeling on Kavanaugh and they will try to walkaway from it and try something different.
The FBI has investigated Kavanaugh 7 times now. He was one of GW Bush’s top advisers. There were no credible relevant accusations made against him and nothing that will come up. The fight against him has united the Republican Party for once. The media will dump this crap like a hot potato because at this point all it does is energizing Republicans and making the Democrats look like a bunch of howling buffoons.
Depends. The media will consistently push the narrative even if it is low key. Look at how they started suggesting that Anita Hill was innocent and telling the truth and abused by the Senate. They’re making it appear as if the vast majority supported her despite the event being well within living memory.

It may not happen in time for the mid terms, but, if the Anita Hill experience showed us anything, someone will write a book and in about a year, a lot of people will believe Ms. Ford.
I have no idea what we can do to stop this from happening. The left controls the media.
In certain circles, the story is set that Trump put a gang rapist on the supreme court and Republicans ignored nit just one sex assault victim, but all sex assault victims because one of them stood in his way. That’s their truth now, and it’s also incorporating the Clarence Thomas claims from long ago to build a narrative that if you support Republicans, you not only accept rapists in your midst, you promote them. It’s not long before they will take as gospel the ‘fact’ that any vote for any republican is evidence of someone either being a rapist or an apologist for one.
The people who believe this are small in number, but some of them have very outsized voices because they live in the insular echo chambers of journalism, education, HR departments of large corporations, and entertainment. They’ll do everything they can to propogate their version of truth to the young and the malleable.
Just like a real nuclear halflife, their presence and effect may diminish over time, maybe diminsh a lot in the near term as the next Trump-inspired outrage is ginned up, but it will never really disappear.
By Tuesday there should be someone claiming Trump actually did shoot someone on 5th Avenue and will provide a list of who “will” corroborate.
2 will be dead, 1 will be unreachable, another will be found to suffer from alzheimer’s and the last one will not have ever heard of the accuser or seen anyone get shot
