It's not how much they drink,
how often they drink,
what they drink,
where they drink,
when they drink,
or who they drink with
that makes someone an alcoholic.

It is why they drink and what happens to them when they drink that makes someone an alcoholic.

While an individual may be an alcoholic without admitting it, they will never recover until THEY understand and admit they are an alcoholic.

There's a lot of truth to your points.

However the amount will make a huge difference in deaths on the highway and in the amount of battering spouses take--usually the woman.
