Dr. Kelli Ward, a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy), is the conservative candidate in the post-Flake Republican primary, but is currently losing to Martha McSally.
Ward is not really in the running for McCain's seat, partly because of the ongoing primary to be held Tuesday, but also because she put her foot in her mouth big-time by blaming the timing of McCain's withdrawal from treatment as an effort by McCain to disrupt her statewide bus tour.
Whether she wins or loses the primary, it wouldn't make sense for Ducey to name her as McCain's replacement.
