I think their definition of “treatment” was life support machines - not cancer drugs or radiation. I suspect he’s just been lingering on life support for some time now. When it became obvious that everything was shutting down and death was imminent, saying “discontinuing treatment” is better optics than saying they were shutting off the machines.
I’ve never known anyone dying of cancer that was put on life support. Stopping treatment has always been ending drugs and radiation. Then again, I don’t know any elitists so maybe that’s what they do. I guess when you are an evil POS you try to put off dying and answering for yourself in the hereafter as long as possible.
