You forgot to mention that one of the biggies of that article was that the relationship between Paxon and Hume was not what the press made it out to be.

Hume’s suicide followed a night of drinking, a high speed chase by the po po, jail and attempted suicide by shoelaces (are you kidding? I though shoelaces and belts were always taken away), committment to a psych ward, talking his way out of the psych ward and release, and then his suicide.

Paxon was not gay. Hume was, openly. Hume had troubles.

Now always. Depends on the lockup and the "suicide risk assessment" (and the competency of those making the assessment) at intake.

There is no uniform policy.
