Trump desperately wants to hold that ace card as long as possible. Once used, it’s power is then spent and the game becomes something different.
If Trump is true to his own nature, he’s been negotiating with that Trump Card, seeing if he can find an easier and less disruptive way to get what he must get by not playing it...and thus continuing to hold it over his enemy’s head. It becomes the decision of the DS and all their denizens. Do they want to go out in a nuclear fireball, or would they prefer to slink off into a powerless “new life”? An interesting dilemma for people so intensely polemic.
