Ooo thanks for the tip! You wouldn’t happen to know the channel number, would you?

I was wondering when this one would come up in the discussion. Used to love listening to CBS Radio Mystery Theater and some of the stories really were scary. Good memories!

Until the late 90s or early 00s, I discovered CBSRMT.

I doubt that ever played in my area and even if it did, a yute of the 70s probably wouldn’t have listened anyway.

WBT Charlotte might have been the only station I could think of that would have run it at all.

After nearly 8 decades, Suspense bells still give me the willies!

It’s called Radio Classics, channel 148. Here’s a typical lineup:

Sometimes at work, I’ll pull up CBSRMT on YouTube and listen. When I discovered so many episodes had been uploaded there, I was pretty stoked.

Another series I like is Damon Runyon Theater. It’s light hearted comedy.

It is tied with Our Miss Brooks in terms of favorites.

Thanks.

Gosh, ‘The Thing on the Fourble Board’ was CREEPY! I’m not sure I’d play that for kids. I listened to it just before bed and, fortunately, I’ve been so obsessed with something else lately that I dreamed I was in an art history lecture, instead of dreaming about The Thing.

It is amazing how they created so much horror with so much subtlety, and with only voice; much creepier than any horror film they make these days, even with all the modern special effects.

Thanks again to everyone who posted old radio suggestions/links!
