>>Somehow we have to get the debates away from the media. They are so clearly biased it has to be obvious to everyone at this point.

Every debate is framed by the Left. They define the positions to be discussed and the direction of questioning on those issues.

Add to that, the political biases of the debate moderators.

Recall that candidate Barack refused to even appear on a (primary?) debate that was to be hosted by Fox News.

This makes it SO HARD to be proud of working in broadcast television.

It’s not deceptive at all. He does try to back track a bit but then over steps that by inferring “WE” includes more than just Dems.

His expression after the host’s ending comment is priceless. Boy does he with that last couple of minutes never happened.

Good to know, now add a few thousand temporary contractor judges, and put them through a painful in-person review of every they-can-stay decision...

Sometimes it just isn’t possible to be proud of everyone in your industry.

Affiliates will pressure the network mightily once it starts hurting them finaniaclly. The only way to do that is to call LOCAL advertisers and say that you aren’t patronizing them while they support the affiliate that runs that networks news. National advertisers aren’t reachable. The localadvertisers are. Pick up the phone and talk to the mom and pop local advertisers.

Talking to the local news director won’t do you any good. In broadcasting, it’s not a problem until it’s a problem for sales. Make it a problem for sales.

He never gave them up.

However I have heard he has marines guarding him, and apparently from prior posted stories, they do like him.

This one is done. It was meant to distract from the IG report, which it did, but I get the feeling that it was meant to be more than that--an October surprise to put the GOP candidates on the defensive.

You could be right. This was supposed to be an "October Surprise", but someone, perhaps someone in the FBI(?), decided they need cover *now*, and they had to drop their "surprise" early. Much like during the election, the whole "pussy gate" was supposed to be an October Surprise, but again, the DNC/FBI had to drop their load prematurely because the Weiner / Clinton emails were surfacing as an issue.

Somehow we have to get the debates away from the media. They are so clearly biased it has to be obvious to everyone at this point. I have no idea who could or would do it? Maybe a Veteran’s group? Anyone have any ideas?

How about the hosts on C-SPAN?

They are NOT smarter by any real measure. They are a self-selecting, self-congratulating, and self-endorsing bunch. They bob their heads in somber agreement when one of their number speaks. They go into hysterical fits when their premises and conclusions are questioned. They are so used to glad-handing one another that they are terrified when their pronouncements are put under rigorous scrutiny. They’re closer to actors than academics.

If you take the debates away from the MSM, the Rats will just refuse to participate. The MSM will spin it that the GOP are cowards. Personally I find the debates dismal (They are not true debates! Not that, that really matters!) and think they should end. They are a media driven trivialization of the presidential race.

If NBC is allowed to host Republican debated, what does that tell us about the Republican Party?

That too many of them are greedy cowards with no imagination. But now that we saw what John Harwood did on and off stage, they can't pretend to be shocked.

Wonder what the response would be if an angry conservative or vet were to put an RPG through their front door?

Why is it that no FReeper ever mentions Comcast — the parent company ultimately responsible for this BS?

And no doubt, many FReepers throw a lot of money at Comcast every damn month.

And yet, NBC will still be allowed to host Republican primary debates.

Not if Trump is in them.
