A few occasionally but that's why you keep a close eye on your heard. And carry a rifle. Gators are spread all across the mid and lower south. East Texas has a few spots where cattle and gators mix. Heck, a gator was photographed in west Tennessee this past spring(Climate Warming?)
Note: Not speaking from actually experience but my younger brother has a friend who lives in Louisiana and runs a farm down there. Likes to regal us Tennessee boys with his tales of "triumph and woe."
