I will try to find the video clip of Mooch bouncing down the stairs to a car when visiting her kid at college. There is some significant “mass” bouncing in the pants. I will defer to your tailoring expertise, but please show an equivalent video of ANY woman having the same trouser effect, and I will start to side with your theory. I’ve never seen it.

Don’t have video of it but have experienced the effect myself when I was first learning to sew and in poorly constructed off the rack clothes. If I couldn’t fix it, the pants found a new home.
