“Drive through Lakewood, 99% of the storefronts and signs are in Hebrew. Very creepy town, outsiders are definitely not welcome.”

Hogwash. Born and raised in Lakewood, just moved from there to Toms River last year. Still do a lot of our shopping there for the amazing variety of kosher and religious items available at shops like “Kosher World”, Evergreen, Seasons, Marcy’s clothing, Pizza Plus, The Hat Box, BP Graphics, Gelbsteins Bakery, French Cleaners, Center of Town, Judaica Plaza and on and on and on with English named stores with signs in English. Moreover, no one is made to feel they aren’t welcome, unless you’re wearing a suicide vest or swastika armband.

I’m looking for the links, but in short, the Hasidic community of Monsey/Spring Valley NY has school buses in Rockland that drop off hundreds of kids to single family residences and calls them Yeshivas.
