I wish I applied for beach access at Pendleton. I was getting into kayaking and wanted to kayak to a remote beach and camp some.

I jogged many times from La Jolla to Torrey Pines state beach via Blacks Beach. The muscles you develop in the feet and just above the ankle is amazing when you jog in wet sand.

Wet sand and choking talcum powered dirt. Pendleton did have some nice beaches, 27 miles of them. The only undeveloped beaches left in Southern California. Or at least it was.

I attended UCSD La Jolla in 1985, and went to Black’s Beach with my buddy to check out the scene. I must admit, seeing some of my instructors there naked was a little disconcerting for me, and more than a bit weird.

That’s a fun run at low tide. Not at high tide.
