Notice that nobody was forcing the Muslims to eat pork (as there were other items on the menu), they were simply offering it on the menu for those people who did want to eat it.

The totalitarian mindset cannot live with the notion of allowing someone else to have/enjoy what is forbidden to the totalitarian, so their solution to the "problem" is to attempt to impose Sharia law on all non-Muslims.

Their totalitarian mindset is the fundamental reason why these people cannot be reasoned with and so cannot ever be assimilated citizens in western societies.
