Disney and Pixar's The Incredibles 2 is tracking for a huge box-office debut of $140 million-plus in North America. If so, that would make the best domestic start ever for an animated movie, exceeding the $135 million launch of fellow Pixar film Finding Dory.
The film opens in theaters on June 15, nearly 14 years after The Incredibles hit the big screen and turned into an instant classic.
Incredibles 2 was directed by Brad Bird, who also wrote and helmed the first film. Along with Bird, Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Samuel L. Jackson and John Ratzenberger reprise their roles. New additions to the voice cast include Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush and Isabella Rossellini.

The Incredibles is one of the greatest movies ever made- not just “best cartoon”, or “best super-hero movie”- simply one of the best movies that has ever been made.

Nice to see Edna (modeled after the legendary Edith Head) elbow solo-cup for #1 spot — which it will.
The one bad thing about the original The Incredibles is Samuel L Jackson’s ridiculous Frozone part. Other than that, it’s the 2nd best CGI animated movie ever made, after Frozen.
I don’t give money to Disney.

Agreed. Hoping the sequel will follow suit. It’s rare for Hollywood to make a movie worth seeing these days.
The "subversiveness" of these movies is that they may wind up reinforcing the morals and ethics that resonate with Deplorables. I see Disney as a net positive force in these culture wars, albeit unwittingly so.
