Working in bear country without an armed guard (partner) sounds like a bad plan.

28 years old and she's going out alone. A simple fall or cut or snake can take you out.

28....and no common sense.

After happening upon a silver tipped grizzly having a snack on a berry bush on a hiking trail in Canada, that is all the ‘research’ I care to do! He was about 30’ away when we came to a dead stop! He rose up on his back legs and sniffed for us. Saw his amazing body but mostly his claws!! YES, Jesus heard our silent screams and pleads!!! He finished his snack and wondered off to the left of us and I sort of panicked and ran for the car about a football field away! The ‘picture’ is embedded in my brain but wish I had one to show!!! He was beautiful.

I have been seeing pictures of idiot tourists in the Great Smokey Mountains trying to pet a sow and her cubs. Can you say Darwin Award winners in the making!

I had a friend who drove through the Smokes to work each day and he came upon a tourist parked in the road trying to catch a snake one morning. He got out and looked and it was a four foot diamond back coiled and ready to strike. My friend explained, you are about to die if he bites you. Oh I just want to pet it and look at the rattles. My friend got in his truck drove around the tourist and splat ran over the rattler. The tourist was having a conniption fit. My friend had probably just saved the damned fools life.
